Dr. Joe Easterling has been blessed with an incredible ministry in teaching, church ministry, and Christian discipleship for more than 25 years.
Joe began his education at Wingate University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies (1995).
After completing his studies at Wingate University, Joe went on to earn his first Master’s degree in Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (2000).
After serving for more than a decade in a local church, Joe returned to Southeastern Seminary to receive a Master of Divinity degree with Biblical Languages (2007) and then a Doctor of Education (2010).
In 2020, Joe earned a Ph.D. in Theology and Apologetics from Liberty University.
For the last twenty-five years Joe has faithfully served in local churches—as Associate Pastor at Mount Vernon Baptist Church (Raleigh, NC; 2007-2014) and as Discipleship Pastor at Northside Church (Wilmington, NC; 1995-2006, 2014-present).
Dr. Easterling has spent many years investing in students through higher education, serving as Instructor of Religion at Sampson Community College (Clinton, NC), as Assistant Professor for Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA), and teaching at UNC Wilmington (Wilmington, NC).
Dr. Easterling continues to teach and enjoys investing in the lives of students and believers in Christ through organizations like Ratio Christi at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, the church, and in-person and online speaking engagements.

Dr. Easterling has provided discipleship, theological, and ministry training in the United States and abroad in Romania, Ghana, Guyana, Haiti, and Kenya.
Joe and his family live in Wilmington, NC where Joe was blessed to meet and marry Anne, his wonderful wife and best friend, for nearly 30 years. Joe and Anne have two beautiful girls, Noelle and Moriah.
Joe is an avid sports fan, particularly of the Atlanta Braves, UNC Tarheels, and Carolina Panthers.
